Austin ranks as greenest city in Texas

A recent study by WalletHub ranks Austin as the greenest city in Texas, and one of the top 20 greenest cities in the United States.

To find out which U.S. cities are promoting an environmentally friendly lifestyle, WalletHub compared the nation’s 100 largest cities using 26 key “green” indicators, including emissions per capita, smart-energy policies and green job opportunities.

At Sweetwater, we’re proud to contribute to Austin’s “green cred.” We devote more than 700 acres – nearly half of our overall acreage – to parks, trails and natural open spaces at Sweetwater, and we partner with some of the greenest groups in Austin, including the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and the Children in Nature Collaborative of Austin.
