Everyone’s invited to the Sweetwater Wildflower Festival, blooming Saturday, April 14

The 5th annual Sweetwater Wildflower Festival takes place on Saturday, April 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy this free, family friendly event at Sweetwater.

The wildflower experts at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center are predicting peak bluebonnet blooms for right around the time of the festival, so come out to enjoy the natural beauty, along with live music, food trucks and activities for every member of the family.

The Peterson Brothers will be playing on the live music stage, and food trucks will include Best Wurst, TX Chili Queens, It’s All Good BBQ, Roppolo's Pizzeria and Kona Ice.

For kids of all ages, there’ll be a rock climbing wall, bounce houses, an obstacle course, a giant slide and a life-sized Connect 4 game.

Sweetwater’s leading homebuilders will sponsor more fun activities such as face painting, balloon artistry and much more.

The festival will showcase local Hill Country artisans and businesses, including Sweetwater partners such as Round Rock Honey and the Children in Nature Collaborative of Austin. Other businesses will include LuLaRoe and Kidventure and Pampered Chef, to name just a few.

Proceeds from market booth rentals at Wildflower Festival will benefit Austin Pets Alive!, which operates comprehensive, innovative programs designed to save the animals most at risk for euthanasia.

The festival will feature giveaways for Sweetwater guests, including Yeti merchandise.

The main attraction, of course, will be acres of beautiful wildflowers at Sweetwater, including bluebonnets, Indian paintbrushes, primrose, winecups, bee balm and other spring bloomers.

Sweetwater’s wildflowers were seeded in partnership with the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. The wildflower meadows are part of the more than 700 acres that Sweetwater devotes to parks, trails, recreational amenities and natural open space.

The Wildflower Festival will be a great time for visitors to discover new homes priced from the high $200,000s to more than $1 million at Sweetwater. Six fully furnished models will be open for touring, and visitors can also meet Sweetwater’s builders in the festival area.
