Worth the Wait - Introducing Sweetwater
Our website is coming soon and so is Sweetwater, the new master-planned community in western Travis County near Lake Travis. Roads are being paved. Utilities are in the ground. Home builders are finalizing house plans.
With so much happening, we decided to launch this blog site to answer some of your questions. Let’s start with the basics, and we’ll add more in the weeks ahead.
Where is Sweetwater?
We like to say it’s where Austin meets the Hill Country. But more specifically, it’s just off Highway 71, five minutes west of the Hill Country Galleria.
How big is it?
In all, 1,400 acres of some of the most beautiful ridges and canyons you’ll ever see. Because we think everyone should get to enjoy that beauty, we’re preserving 700 acres of Sweetwater as open space and greenbelts.
How many and what type of homes will be built?
The site has been approved for 1,800 residences. We’re still picking our builders and working out details with them (look for an announcement in February), but we anticipate home prices ranging from the mid-$200,000s to the $600,000s in the first neighborhoods.
What sort of amenities will Sweetwater offer?
There will be lots of opportunities for recreation and socializing at Sweetwater. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the spectacular outdoors here, so we’re starting by creating miles of fitness, hiking and biking, and wilderness trails. We’ll also be building playgrounds, multi-use sports fields and sports courts, and a resort-style swimming pool and splash area for kids. Those will be right by the clubhouse and open-air pavilion that our residents can use for everything from birthday parties to yoga classes.
When will you be able to buy a home in Sweetwater?
Soon. Very soon. The first model homes will open in late spring. Our community Welcome Center will be ready in early summer. And before the year is out, the first Sweetwater residents will be moving in.
You’ll be able to track our progress through this blog. We’ll tell you when you’ll be able to visit the model homes and tour the neighborhoods, and provide a lot more details about why Sweetwater is going to be one of Austin’s most-sought-after addresses.
