Sweetwater schools get straight A’s in 2017 Children at Risk report

Children at Risk has released its annual school rankings for 2017, and all of the Lake Travis Independent School District schools serving Sweetwater have received grades of A or better.

West Cypress Hills Elementary School earned an A grade in the report, and Lake Travis Middle School received a grade of A+.

Notably, Lake Travis Middle School ranks No. 5 among the 102 ranked middle schools in the Austin metropolitan area.

Lake Travis High School also received an A grade, and ranks No. 13 among traditional comprehensive high schools in the Austin area, excluding charter and magnet schools.

For the past 12 years, Children at Risk has calculated its annual school rankings for major Texas cities using student performance on STAAR reading and math tests, and indices for campus performance, student growth and college readiness.

The Children at Risk report is the latest positive news about the highly regarded Lake Travis Independent School District.

Niche.com, a national educational review website, gives Lake Travis ISD an overall district grade of A+.  Niche also ranks Lake Travis ISD as No. 10 among more than 1,000 school districts in Texas.

At the campus level, Niche gives A+ grades to both Lake Travis Middle School and Lake Travis High School. West Cypress Hills Elementary is not rated by Niche.
