7 ways to keep fit at Sweetwater
From working out and swimming at the Sweetwater Club, to running the trails or joining a softball league, Sweetwater offers many ways for residents of all ages to keep fit and build friendships and neighborly connections. Here are the top seven.
Working out. The fitness center at the Sweetwater Club offers state-of-the-art cardio and weight training equipment, along with inspiring Hill Country views to make the miles and reps fly by.
Taking a fitness class. Sweetwater’s fitness center includes an activity room and a large deck with inspiring views. Both are great places to enjoy a fitness activity such as yoga and Zumba.
Hitting the trails. Sweetwater offers miles of trails for running, walking and biking. Sweetwater’s trails are rated from Easy to Difficult, and the community will ultimately have 10 miles of trails, as part of a master plan that devotes more than 700 acres to amenities and natural open space.
Swimming. Swimming is one of the best overall exercises, especially for anyone wanting a low-impact activity. Three pools in one, the big pool at the Sweetwater Club includes two regulation lap lanes for serious swimmers. Coming in 2019, the Overlook Club will offer two swimming pools with incredible Hill Country views.
Team sports. Team sports such as soccer and baseball are a great way for every member of the family to get healthy exercise and build friendships. The sports fields at the Sweetwater Club are active year ‘round with many different sports league activities. Or, just grab some friends anytime to enjoy a game of volleyball or basketball.
Taking it to the next level. Sweetwater is near several gyms and fitness centers, including Hill Country Indoor, located less than 5 miles from Sweetwater’s main entrance. This facility offers a fitness center and exercise classes, along with basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, soccer, football and baseball.
Knowledge is power. Located just 5 miles from Sweetwater, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Lakeway offers an ongoing calendar of classes and events focusing on healthy living. Topics range from childbirth to healthy eating and losing weight.
