Sweetwater Students Assigned to Serene Hills Elementary
The school board of Lake Travis Independent School District last week changed the elementary school assignment for students living in Sweetwater to Serene Hills Elementary School.
Serene Hills is rated Exemplary by the Texas Education Agency and has consistently ranked in the top 10 percent of elementary schools across Texas. Located at 3301 Serene Hills Drive, the school is 3.5 miles, or roughly an eight-minute drive, from the entrance to Sweetwater, on Hwy 71.
Older students living in Sweetwater have been assigned to Lake Travis Middle and High Schools, both of which are also rated Exemplary. Initially, Sweetwater students were expected to attend Bee Cave Elementary School, which is on Hamilton Pool Road and slightly farther away.
